Establishment: Rusty Anchor at the Music Box

Hours: Open seven days a week during the summer. Happy hour every day beginning at 4p.m. Dining starts at 5pm. Oyster Bar open Thurs.,-Fri. 5pm-8pm and Sat.-Sun. 3pm-6pm.

Reasons:  Here on the West Bank of the Flats you can enjoy the riverfront deck and its amazing views of the city’s skyline, bridges, and the Cuyahoga River while enjoying menu selections from Cleveland’s newest waterfront seafood restaurant, the Rusty Anchor. Items include lobster pierogis, mahi picatta, and an Ohio Pride ribeye. The newly opened Oyster Bar beatures a full raw bar and craft beer specials. Also available are The Club menu offerings, including lobster mac and cheese, Carolina-style pulled pork sandwich, and a black bean vegetarian burger.

 

Establishment: Brasa Grill Brazilian Steakhouse

Reasons: Where else can you come and have continuous meat service outdoors, tableside. Just like indoors, a wide variety of slow-cooked beef, pork, lamb, and chicken can be enjoyed in the great outdoors. The patio’s botanical garden, skyline views, and flavors of Brazil make for a memorable dining experience in the heart Cleveland’s Warehouse District. And if you just want to have drinks and just chill, one side of the patio is set up for just that.

Reasons: The “landscaped” patio here provides for an old world charm in the heart of Cleveland’s warehouse district. The special patio menu offers a tantalizing selection of salads and sandwiches, including the Palma de Mallorca salad made with grapes, strawberries, honey dew melon, almonds and walnuts in a raspberry vinaigrette and a blackened grouper filets sandwich with field greens and piquillo pepper (sweet tasting) aioli. And don’t forget to ask about drink specials and featured wines.

Hours: Mon.-Fri. 11am-2-am; Sat. 11:30am-2am; Sun. 10:30am-2am; Sunday brunch 10:30am-3pm. Patio is open year-round.

Reasons: Located in the trend Tremont neighborhood, this culinary gen’s electic menu features empanada, Cubans, Vietnamese sausage, flatbreads, and chicken and waffles, plus burgers, steaks, seafood, and salads. The 1,000-square-foot, indoor/outdoor patio has a fireplace for hanging with friends and large-screen TVs for cheering on your favorite sports teams.

 

Establishment: Stone Mad Pub

Hours: Tues.-Sun. 11am-11pm

Reasons: Stone Mad Pub is a hidden gem in the Gordon Square Arts District, where Cleveland’s artistic flair is celebrated and showcased. That’s certainly the case here at Stone Mad. The cut stone patio features rustic, yet comfortable and aesthetically seating areas, a fireplace, water fountain, and a stone archway. And even if you’re here for the outdoor dining, take a look inside where you’ll be greeted hand-blown glass chandeliers, hand-laid mosaic-tiled bathrooms, intricate woodwork, and even an indoor bocce court. The American-style menu features offerings made fresh daily, including steaks, meatloaf, pastas, and burgers.

Reasons: The Larchmere neighborhood’s newest restaurant is serving up a taste of authentic Brazilian cuisine, where the owners grew up. The patio runs from the porch of the restored home down to the sidewalk. Specialties include a seafood stew (moqueca balana) made with shrimp or fish, tomato, green peppers, coconut milk, and dende oil and a mixed grill (churrasco misto) featuring steak, chicken and sausage with rice, farofa (toasted flour mixture), and tomato relish.


Establishment: Felice Urban Café

Reasons: Set in a chic turn-of-the-century house in the Larchmere neighborhood, Felice Urban Café is all about creating fresh, house-made offerings for sophisticated palates, and presenting them in casual and approachable ways. Menu selections include locally sourced produce, including ingredients from the private garden adjacent to the patio, which features several intimate seating areas and a shed bar that is opened up on warm summer days. Whether you come for dinner and drinks with friends, or a romantic dinner for two, this unique dining spot will leave an impression.

Reasons: One of the nicest patios in Cleveland features beautiful foliage and flowers, a handsome brick surface, and a tall wood fence that provides for a cozy atmosphere where patrons can enjoy some serious Italian fare that includes shrimp-wrapped prosciutto, frutti di mare, chicken piccata, veal marsala scallopini, and amazing lasagna.
